Where You Lead, I Will Follow
Not a whole lot of people in our tour-group were fans of the Gilmore Girls, but me and my sister were excited enough for everyone about the show for our tour guide to take us to some key places in the show.
The infamous gazebo literally made us squeal. They’d stopped filming the series the year before, so it was a bitter-sweet moment. It’s much, much smaller in real life. It appears at least four time its size on TV. The magic of Hollywood.
They even took us by the Gilmore Girls house, which was not on the original route for the tour. It looks exactly as it does on TV. Or at least the front of it does. We learned quickly that the actual filming inside the house was done on a set and not inside the house itself. And it’s not really a real house. The back of the house, doubled as Sookie’s house. That’s a serious prop! Nothing pushed home more than this about how everything in Hollywood is make believe.
