Happiest Place On Earth – If You Like TV

22 September, 2008Travel

A trip to Los Angeles isn’t complete without a trip to a TV studio. Being huge fans of Warner Bros-shows, it was an easy pick. A few hours at the Warner Bros Studios VIP Tour was in order. And completely worth the fee. Getting to walk in the footsteps of Lorelei and Rory, getting to sit in the sofa where Monica, Phoebe, Rachel, Joey, Chandler and Ross sat for ten years – for someone who loved these shows, it doesn’t get much better than this. Even the souvenir shop was a huge hit, I mean, who wouldn’t want to buy more Friends mugs or key chains or other more or less useful stuff that you lose or break before long.

Ambulances all ready to “go” at a moments notice. These look pretty real, weird to think that they’re “just” props.

This one pops up in a lot of movies and TV shows, and people are always going up or down – but that hole in the ground goes basically nowhere. Sure, there is a hole there, but it’s a clever prop.

Just another New York street. In California. Something was happening this day right here, sadly we weren’t allowed to stick around and see what they were filming.

A huge chunk of the Universal Studios lot burned down in the fire in April 2008, forcing a lot of the filming to move to other locations. Ghost Whisperer moved its filming to Warner Bros. It was a horrible thing to happen for Universal who lost a lot of its archives. But for us who were fans of Ghost Whisperer, we were happy to see the set going up.

“Winter” filming of Grey’s Anatomy in the heat of California. Fake snow really looks bad, but somehow, they make it look good on film.

The flying Harry Potter car. Are any other words really needed?

The Batmobile. No other words are really needed.
